Vilber’s to represent Latvia in the Creative Business Cup Global Final
The winner of Latvia’s national final of the international business idea competition, Creative Business Cup is Vilber’s, a specialised clothing brand designed for people with mobility impairments. Vilber’s will represent Latvia at the Global Final in Copenhagen this September.
This year, the competition received 26 applications from creative entrepreneurs, reflecting the growth of the creative industries in Latvia and a rising number of businesses recognising the commercial potential of cross-sectoral areas that merge creativity, design, technology, and sustainability.
8 creative businesses competed in the National Final
Eight participants competed in the national final of the Creative Business Cup, presenting business ideas from various fields including innovative musical instruments, smart rehabilitation solutions, and an AI travel assistant, among others.
Vilber’s stood out from the rest of the field with its thoughtfully designed collection intended for wheelchair users, prosthetic wearers, and individuals requiring rehabilitation clothing after an injury. The company’s story combines a strong value proposition and deep understanding of the problem, bolstered by significant business potential.
“We are grateful and excited to represent Latvia at the Creative Business Cup final in Denmark. It’s not only a place full of opportunities for collaboration, experience exchange, and investment, but also a platform to raise awareness about serving society — especially its more vulnerable parts — through entrepreneurship. The beginning is full of challenges, but every competition, event, and moment is a major stimulus and real accelerator for business growth. We look forward to this event with joy, enthusiasm, and a sense of responsibility,” says Vilber’s founder Zane Bērziņa.
Runner-up in the national final was Chartizer, a company that developed a real-time collaborative web platform for creating interactive big data animations. In turn, third place went to Biotops, a company producing sustainable biotextile material grown from wheat roots, used for acoustic solutions like wall panels, ceiling diffusers, and lamps.
